Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistants to provide high-quality care to our home care settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for senior care and supporting individuals with disabilities, including those with dementia. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those needing assistance with daily activities, medication management, and emotional support. Prior experience in home care, senior care or working with vulnerable populations is preferred, but a caring attitude and willingness to learn are essential.
Duties
- Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Support medication administration following proper protocols and documentation
- Provide companionship and emotional support to seniors and individuals with disabilities
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding as needed, ensuring nutritional needs are met
- Perform light cleaning duties to maintain a safe and hygienic environment
- Monitor residents’ health status and report any concerns to healthcare professionals
- Support dementia care strategies to ensure safety and comfort for residents with memory impairments
- Help with household tasks related to home care services, including laundry and organizing personal belongings
- Collaborate with team members to deliver personalized care plans tailored to each individual’s needs
Requirements
- This role requires driving. Must have your own car.
- Experience in home care or assisted living is highly desirable
- Knowledge of senior care practices, including dementia care and working with individuals with disabilities
- Ability to perform medication administration accurately and responsibly
- Able to work independently in a community setting.
- Compassionate attitude with excellent caregiving skills
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting or assisting residents with mobility support
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; some roles may require availability during evenings or weekends
- Certification in caregiving or related fields is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to obtain necessary certifications is expected
