We are currently hiring a Medical Office Assistant to join our team in support of our 9 dedicated surgeons. In this essential role, you'll be the welcoming face of our clinic, creating a friendly and inviting atmosphere for our patients while ensuring our office runs smoothly. The ideal candidate will have exceptional interpersonal skills, a solid work ethic, and the ability to excel in a fast-paced team-oriented setting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Checking patients in, creating, updating and maintaining accurate medical records.
- Optimizing patient’s satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by phone.
- Keeping patients’ appointments on schedule by notifying nurses and doctors of patient’s arrivals, reviewing schedules, and reminding individuals of service delays.
- Answering patients’ questions and inquiries while monitoring the reception area.
- Performing accurate data entry, scheduling appointments, following-up and creating health documents.
- Assisting in the day-end process for the office as necessary in reviewing payments made.
- Protecting patients' rights by maintaining the confidentiality of personal and financial information.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of Products
- Proficiency in typography and computers
- Proficiency in EMR software’s
- Medical knowledge and terminology
- Ability to work collaboratively within a primary care team and within a broader interdisciplinary staff team
- Ability and willingness to engage in continued education and/or training provided by employer
Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma in Medical Office Administration, or related field
- Over 5 years of experience as a Medical Office Assistant or related position
- Experience in a specialty medical office is considered an asset
- Experience with Accuro EMR software is considered an asset
- Experience with third party insurance billing is considered an asset
Work Environment:
- We are recruiting to fill two full-time positions at North Walkerville Orthopaedic Associates.

Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
