THE OPPORTUNITY:

- Full-Time, Permanent (up to 40 hours/per week)
Shift Details:
- Monday to Friday, Shift Time 12:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Compensation Range:
- $26.37-$29.78/hour *Commensurate with experience
The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training. It is not typical for the starting salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors.
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor, supervises and coordinates the work of warehouse employees, overseeing order picking, verifying and packing stock for shipment, supervising the loading of delivery trucks, and ensuring the correct products are shipped. Responsible for maintaining the overall safety of warehouse employees and other personnel.
WHAT YOU BRING TO OUR TEAM:
- Minimum 2+ years of warehouse experience, preferably in plumbing, heating, or wholesale distribution
- Previous warehouse supervisory or team leadership experience
- Working knowledge of health & safety practices, including incident reporting and safety committee participation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with Mincron/AS400 is an asset
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proven leadership, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Customer-focused with sound judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
- Adaptable, team-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement
- Demonstrates professionalism, confidentiality, and a strong commitment to workplace health and safety
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees all Outbound & Inbound work based on daily business requirements. Coordinates stocking of regular stock into inventory and prompt processing of special material.
- Measures warehouse and driver results against various operational targets, including but not limited to Here-Nows, Pick Up orders, damages, pick errors, pick rate, and driving behaviours.
- Ensures all orders are routed accordingly & in sequence prior to loading the trucks.
- Ensures driver paperwork is compiled and available for drivers to ensure compliance with MTO regulations.
- Responsible for closing procedures, such as securing and alarming the building and yard, ensuring truck keys and paperwork are placed accordingly, etc.
- Makes all necessary labour moves to ensure that the workload is properly covered.
- Conducts regular meetings with staff to communicate expectations, review results, share information and receive feedback from employees.
- Provides formal and informal recognition to employees for efforts, results and years of service recognition.
- Administers progressive discipline, performance improvement plans and attendance management program, where applicable.
- Reviews weekly timesheets of direct reports and agency staff; manages time-off requests/approvals to ensure vacations are taken for all employees without adverse impact on warehouse operations.
- Assists with recruitment and selection of afternoon shift employees.
- Responsible for completing the onboarding of new afternoon shift employees; organizes and facilitates their training.
- Monitors and enforces adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Fosters a safety-conscious warehouse environment, ensuring the aisles and shelves are organized and remain clear of obstacles and potential hazards.
- Prepares accident/incident reports in accordance with established procedures. Participates in the investigation of workplace accidents and near misses to identify the root cause(s). Identifies and makes recommendations on countermeasures to prevent recurrence.
- Prepares and participates in the physical inventory count.
- Ensure all equipment is in good condition and properly maintained. Makes recommendations for equipment purchases.
- Executes any other duties required to perform the position and/or requested by his/her immediate supervisor.
