Job Description
Ingersoll Memorials is looking for a compassionate, detail-oriented Memorial Counsellor to join our team at our Ingersoll showroom.
This is a front-facing customer service and sales role, but it is not a commission-based position. We do not believe in pressuring families during an already difficult time. Our role is to guide people with honesty, patience, and care as they choose and design a cemetery monument or memorial for their loved one.
The successful candidate will be professional, organized, comfortable with sensitive conversations, and able to help families make thoughtful decisions with confidence.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist families in person, by phone, and by email with compassion and professionalism
- Guide customers through memorial options, granite colours, sizes, lettering, designs, and cemetery requirements
- Prepare quotes, order forms, and customer paperwork accurately
- Enter and maintain customer records and orders in our system
- Work closely with our design, production, and installation team to ensure orders are completed accurately and on time
- Process payments and issue receipts
- Follow up with customers throughout the design, approval, and installation process
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming showroom
- Assist with general office duties as required

Requirements
- Previous customer service, office, or sales experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to handle sensitive conversations with empathy and discretion
- Proficiency with computers and basic office software
- Ability to work in person at our Ingersoll showroom
Assets, But Not Required
- Experience in the monument, cemetery, funeral, or memorial industry
- Experience with design-related customer service
- Familiarity with cemetery regulations or memorial design software
