Position Summary
The Parts Planning Specialist is responsible for supporting parts planning, procurement coordination, inventory optimization, and warehouse operations. This role works closely with dealers, internal teams, suppliers, and warehouse operations to ensure parts availability, maintain appropriate inventory levels, and improve overall parts supply efficiency.
The ideal candidate has strong analytical and planning capabilities, understands parts planning and inventory management processes, and is able to effectively coordinate resources to meet dealer and customer demands.
Key ResponsibilitiesParts Planning & Procurement
- Coordinate with dealers on parts purchasing and demand plans and evaluate the reasonableness of submitted requirements.
- Consolidate dealer parts demand forecasts and align them with current warehouse inventory to develop accurate procurement and replenishment plans.
- Handle emergency and urgent parts requests and coordinate internal and external resources to meet dealer and customer needs.
- Analyze out-of-stock and backorder requirements and develop appropriate procurement plans based on demand forecasts, historical consumption, inventory levels, and parts planning models.
- Track parts purchase orders, shipments, and expected arrival dates to ensure timely delivery.
- Identify potential supply shortages and proactively coordinate solutions to minimize operational and customer impact.
Inventory Management & Optimization
- Monitor inventory levels, parts availability, turnover, and other key inventory indicators.
- Analyze slow-moving, aging, and dead inventory and support initiatives to improve inventory utilization and turnover.
- Promote the redistribution, sale, or other appropriate utilization of excess and obsolete inventory.
- Support inventory forecasting and continuously improve inventory accuracy and parts availability.
- Prepare and maintain parts planning KPIs, operational reports, and inventory analysis reports.
Warehouse Coordination
- Support daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packaging, shipping, and inventory management.
- Ensure parts and materials are properly identified, stored, and managed in accordance with established warehouse procedures.
- Support physical inventory counts and investigate inventory discrepancies.
- Coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure consistency in operational processes and standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to warehouse efficiency, inventory accuracy, and parts handling.
Dealer & Cross-Functional Support
- Maintain effective communication with dealers regarding parts demand, availability, backorders, and delivery status.
- Work closely with Parts, Service, Sales, Logistics, Finance, and other internal teams to resolve parts-related issues.
- Provide data analysis and recommendations to support parts planning and operational decision-making.
- Perform other parts and warehouse-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- 1-3-year working experience in parts planning, inventory management, procurement, supply chain, or warehouse operations is preferred.
- Experience in the heavy equipment, automotive, industrial equipment, or related industry is an asset.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Strong organizational, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and teamwork.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with ERP, inventory management, or parts planning systems is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; additional language capabilities are considered an asset.
Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
