Planner I
The City of Martensville is one of the fastest growing cities in Canada and we have an opening for a Permanent, Full-time Planner I.
Reporting to the Planning Manager, the Planner I will be responsible for performing introductory-level professional municipal planning and community development work in support of land use planning, development review, permitting, subdivision coordination, property standards enforcement, and regulatory planning administration. The position provides planning expertise and customer service while independently managing a variety of planning applications, development approvals, and policy-related initiatives.
What You Will Bring to the Team:

Post secondary degree in RegionalUrban Planning or equivalent.

Minimum six months of related planning experience, preferably within an urban municipality.

Works always in a manner to keep themselves and those around them safe, while supporting and promoting a positive organizational safety culture.

Proven ability to adapt to changing situations and maintain composure.

Ability to organize work and work with minimal supervision.

Thorough knowledge of municipal planning principles, urban municipal land use planning, and community development practices, with a strong understanding of Saskatchewan planning legislation, zoning regulations, subdivision processes, and land registration systems.

Ability to interpret and apply bylaws, policies, and technical regulations.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and public engagement.

Ability to establish effective working relationships with staff, elected officials, consultants, developers, external agencies, and the public.

Demonstrates respect, cooperation, and works well with others.

Must maintain a valid Class 5 Driver's License, and is responsible to reimburse the City for any insurance surcharges levied because of driving offences

This is typically a Monday to Friday position with hours between 9:00am-5:00pm. Evening and weekend hours may be required.
WagesBenefits:
- As per the CUPE LOCAL 2582 Collective Agreement: 2026 Probationary Rate – $34.83/hour
