We are looking for a hardworking Junior Estimator! As a Junior Estimator, your main responsibility will be to estimate work of particular projects by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents under the guidance of the Senior Estimator.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare estimates of probable costs to materials, labour and equipment, subcontractors for construction projects based on contract bids, quotations, schematic drawings and specifications
- Examine and analyze tenders, recommend tender awards and conduct negotiations.
- Establish and maintain tendering processes.
- Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures.
- Prepare cost and spending statements and forecasts for the duration of a project.
- Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors.
- Consult and communicate with PM, engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors, and prepare cost estimates and change orders where appropriate
- Budget development and submission
- Review, evaluate , and coordinate all relevant documents
- Consider all risks, such as procurement, contracts, scope, methodology, cost, quality and schedule.
- Prepare and interpret tender documents, specifications, general conditions, other parts of the contract and negotiate contracts.
- Proficient with most software including AutoCad is an asset
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 1 year experience as an Estimator in a construction environment and has been on most projects from start to finish.
- Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management is an asset but not mandatory.
Experience:
- Construction Estimating: 1 year
- Open to new graduates
- Willing to train the right individual
