We are currently seeking an Outside Fire Technician to join our team.
Primary Responsibilities
- Inspect and service Life Safety equipment including: fire extinguishers, gas detection monitors, breathing air equipment and fall arrest equipment
- Additional responsibilities may include: fit testing, hydrostatic testing, air filling, medical oxygen filling and paintball refilling
- Effectively communicate with customers via face-to-face, phone, email, etc., to ensure that we are prepared for the job/project at hand
- Document all records for services, complete all work orders, invoicing work orders (when applicable), deliver goods to staging area and call the customer to inform them that the goods are ready for pick up
- Complete all work orders, ensuring that all inventory is recorded accurately
- Complete all required inspection forms for various life safety equipment
- Provide estimates for customers for life safety equipment as required
- Maintain equipment/tools in each working area, to include: daily inspection, cleanliness, scheduled maintenance/calibrations and any required repairs
- Maintain inventory levels in applicable work areas by maintaining open communication with the purchasing department
- Ensure that the customer is satisfied with the inspection performed and that all their needs have been met before leaving site
- Proactively increase awareness and knowledge of products and application through product knowledge meetings, peer mentorship, manufactures’ offered training and self-motivated research
Secondary
- Assist with overflow of work that becomes built up in other departments
- Deliver reports/invoices and completed service work to customers
- Provide back up to front counter when required
- Assist with shipping receiving, loading and unloading goods
- Participate in the on call schedule and Saturday rotation
- Assist wherever extra help may be needed within the store
