Overview
Scholars of Langley Willoughby is seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and motivated French Tutor to support students from Kindergarten through Grade 12. Structured teaching materials are provided for students up to Grade 8, while a comprehensive subject support system is available for senior high school learners. As a tutor and mentor with Scholars Education, you will deliver high-quality, individualized instruction that supports students at every stage of their academic journey. Instruction takes place in small groups of up to three students, and tutors are responsible for fostering a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment. Our goal is to build a collaborative team of passionate educators dedicated to making a meaningful impact and inspiring a lifelong love of learning in every student.
Responsibilities
- Conduct one-on-one or group tutoring sessions in multiple languages including French
- Assist students with homework, writing assignments, and exam preparation.
- Create engaging and interactive learning activities to enhance student participation.
- Monitor and track student progress
- Maintain a positive and encouraging classroom environment that promotes confidence and curiosity.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different age groups and skill levels.
- Collaborate with parents or guardians to discuss student goals and progress.
Experience
- Prior experience in tutoring, teaching, or classroom instruction is highly desirable.
- Fluency in English & French, Spanish is required; additional language skills are a plus.
- Experience working with children or young learners is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across diverse age groups and backgrounds.

Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:
- BC or Canadian Teaching Certification (considered an asset)
- A completed university degree or current enrollment in a university-level program with strong academic standing
- Enrollment in a Bachelor of Education program (preferred)
- TESOL Certification (considered an asset)
- Early Childhood Education experience (considered an asset)
- Previous experience working with students (preferred)
- Fluency in both English and French (required)
- Strong ability to teach foundational French skills, including reading, writing, listening, and speaking
- A genuine passion for education and supporting student success
- Excellent professional verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to teach small groups of up to three students with strong classroom management
- Availability to work a minimum of two shifts per week during operating hours
Centre Hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm
- Saturday: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
Preference will be given to candidates who can teach multiple subjects and those with greater availability.
