The Bushey family is looking for a friendly, reliable and hardworking individual to provide companionship and caregiving for their 24 year old son within their home. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding and mobility support
- Facilitate exercises to improve the client's mobility. Range and motion
- Maintain a clean environment with light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, tiding, and maintaining a safe environment
- Provide companionship through engaging conversations, recreational activities such as board games or cards and emotional support
- Assist with mobility and transfer techniques using proper body mechanics to ensure safety for both client and caregiver
Qualifications
- Experience as a Healthcare Aide or personal caregiver is required. This job includes perineal care and other Hands on tasks
- Strong attention to detail is a must. The client thrives from a consistent routine that is designed to avoid sores or injuries.
- An understanding of nonverbal communication skills, as the client mainly communicates through hand signals.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for mobility assistance or transfers
- Experience using mobility aids, such as sit-to-stand and ceiling lifts is beneficial but not required. Will train
- Living in SW Calgary is preferable, but not a requirement
- Availability for mornings, afternoons and some weekends

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
