The Child Behavioural Health Research Lab (CBL) at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), University of Toronto, is dedicated to advancing evidence-based prevention and treatment for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties and their families. Led by Dr. Brendan Andrade, the Lab conducts innovative clinical research that bridges science and practice to improve mental health outcomes in clinic and community settings.
An exciting opportunity is available for a Casual Clinical Therapist to join the CBL and contribute to a Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) funded randomized clinical trial to personalize parenting intervention. Reporting to Dr. Brendan Andrade, the Clinical Therapist will deliver virtual, evidence-based group parenting interventions for parents experiencing depression who have children with emotional and behavioural difficulties. The successful candidate will receive specialized training and ongoing consultation in evidence-based parent interventions while contributing to innovative research with the potential to shape the future of family mental health care.

The Clinical Therapist will work closely with the Principal Investigator, graduate students, and the study team.
Responsibilities are outlined below:
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Performs clinical activities that may include:
- Facilitating multi-week virtual evidence-based group treatment (with a co-facilitator)
Note: Training and ongoing consultation will be provided
- Conducting clinical assessments of research participants
- Administering study questionnaires and tasks
- Creating treatment plans
- Completing clinical documentation as appropriate
- Acts as an expert mental health clinical resource to trial team members and participants.
- Acts as a point of contact for research participant questions related to the clinical intervention being delivered in the study.
- Attends weekly “Community of Practice” meetings to build clinical skills in a supportive setting and shares solutions to address barriers to intervention implementation and maintain treatment fidelity.

Experience
- Graduate degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Member in good standing of a relevant psychotherapeutic regulatory college (e.g., College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario, College of Nurses of Ontario, College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario, Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario)
- 3 years of clinical experience in parent and child mental health
- Knowledge of the health care delivery system and community resources is an asset
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and as a member of a team
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Well-developed time management with excellent attention to detail
- Highly resourceful and adaptable, with strong judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, particularly when working under pressure
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to PHIPA
- Professional behavior and communication that meets the standards of the professional regulatory college or association, as applicable
- Experience working with clinical trials specializing in children’s mental health and delivery of virtual interventions is an asset
- Experience with use of technology for the delivery of clinical care is an asset
Conditions of Employment:
- Vulnerable sector screening/police background check required, given work with children and families
- Proof of relevant degree and current, valid registration with applicable regulatory college required prior to start date
- Completion of TCPS-2 and ICH/GCP required prior to commencing research activities. These will be provided by the CBL if not already completed.
Pay: $40.00-$65.00 per hour
