About Pureform Radiology
Pureform Radiology is a boutique provider of community based Diagnostic Imaging services in Calgary and Airdrie. We currently provide X-ray, Ultrasound, Mammography, Bone Mineral Densitometry, Pain Management Injections including Fluoroscopy (Airdrie & Macleod location only) and Ultrasound Guided injections, and Biopsies.
We work with over fourteen Radiologists to provide a range of sub-specialties including: General Imaging, MSK, Intervention, Breast Imaging, Specialty Pediatrics and more.
Position Overview & Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Nursing Supervisor, our Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will play a vital role in supporting diagnostic and clinical procedures, ensuring exceptional patient care, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our medical team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical Support & Patient Care:
- Assist with a variety of clinical procedures alongside Sonographers, Medical Radiation Technologists (MRTs), and Radiologists
- Perform venipuncture to collect and prepare blood products for diagnostic use
- Monitor and document vital signs and patient conditions, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure
- Measure height and weight and collect lab specimens, ensuring proper labeling and documentation
- Provide support in emergency situations such as vasovagal episodes, anaphylaxis, and CPR
Medication Administration:
- Prepare and administer medications for soft tissue and intra-articular injections
- Follow aseptic techniques to ensure sterility in medication preparation and clinical setups
- Manage inventory of injection supplies, ensuring stock levels are maintained and products are within expiration dates
- Administer oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal medications in line with nursing protocols
Administrative & Facility Support:
- Review and verify daily appointment schedules for accuracy to ensure proper procedure preparation
- Identify and report scheduling discrepancies in a timely manner
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients by preparing exam rooms, changing linens, and ensuring proper ventilation, lighting, and equipment care
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Practical Nursing Diploma from an accredited program
- Active registration and good standing with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA)
- Previous experience in patient care settings, particularly with children, is preferred.
- Phlebotomy would be a asset
