The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. Position summary
Department / Research Program: IDIGH
We are looking for a research assistant to help coordinate multiple trials in infectious disease for our CPAU research lab. The trials are multi-centre, and touch upon infections such as: S.aureus andliase-negative blood infections, C.difficile and pneumonia. Some trials are regulated drug trials and others are phase 3-4 comparative effectiveness trials or durations trials. The research assistant would help with patient recruitment, data entry, liase with external sites, and assists with reports required for the trials.
General Duties
- Screening patient medical records for eligibility,
- Collect and maintain data and enrollment records,
- Ensures compliance with protocol guidelines
- Liase with external sites,
- Perfoms patient follow-ups.
Standards of performance:
- High degree of autonomy and organization,
- Strong scientific language proficiency (written and oral), English and French required.

Education / Experience
Education: Master's Degree
Field of Study: Science or healthcare
Work Experience: Prior experience in hospital setting is an asset
Required Skills
- This position requires an advanced knowledge of oral and written French.
- An advanced knowledge of oral and written English is required, as the position requires regular and complex contact with patients, researchers or international students who are exclusively proficient in English. The position also requires complex writing or in-depth analysis of documents in English related to a research project.
Additional information
Status: Temporary, full time (35-hour workweek)
Pay Scale: Commensurate with education and experience
Work Shift: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm
Work Site: Glen Site, 1001 Decarie Blvd.
- This position offers the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement (on-site and remote).
- This position requires to work on several sites.
