We are expanding our presence in Edmonton, AB and looking to add a Mechanical Piping Draftsmen Designer to the team! Job Duties:
- Develop and maintain 3D piping models and 2D drawings using AutoCAD Plant 3D (or equivalent software).
- Create general arrangement, isometric, and spool drawings for fabrication and installation.
- Work closely with the design lead, project managers, and engineers to create, draft and ensure design accuracy and constructability.
- Review vendor drawings and integrate equipment data into plant layouts.
- Support site verification, field measurements, and as-built documentation.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications.
Qualifications:
- Technical school graduate in Engineering Design & Drafting Technology with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience working in the Western Canada market.
- Prefer experience in oil and gas and/or manufacturing industry(s).
- Good working knowledge of ASME/ANSI B31.3 (Process Piping Code) and CSA Piping Standards.
- Proficient with 2D AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D AutoCAD, Acorn competency with MS Applications (Excel, Word).
- Experience generating piping isometrics, fabrication drawings, piping layout and P&ID’s.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize work to meet customer deadlines.
- Attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Work within required deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership qualities and a desire to advance will weigh in favour of the candidate.
