Position Summary
Wonton Crunch, a Division of Cervello Marketing is seeking a detail-oriented and responsible Quality & HACCP Coordinator to oversee food safety, quality assurance, and compliance activities within our food manufacturing facility. Currently reporting to the Plante Manager, this role ensures that all production processes meet HACCP, GMP, and internal quality standards while supporting daily operational checks, documentation, and staff training.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, strong in food safety systems, and comfortable working closely with production teams to maintain compliance and product consistency.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Food Safety (HACCP)
- Oversee daily quality assurance activities across all production areas
- Conduct and verify daily pre-operational (pre-op) inspections before production starts
- Perform end-of-shift sanitation and compliance checks
- Ensure compliance with HACCP plans, GMPs, and company food safety standards
- Monitor production processes to ensure consistent product quality and safety
- Identify and report any food safety or quality deviations immediately
Documentation & Record Keeping
- Maintain all quality, HACCP, and food safety records accurately and up to date
- Verify production records, cleaning logs, temperature logs, and sanitation records
- Ensure traceability documentation is properly completed and stored
- Support audit readiness at all times (internal and external audits)
- Track corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) when issues arise
GMP & Compliance Monitoring
- Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) across all departments
- Conduct routine floor inspections to ensure hygiene and compliance standards are met
- Monitor employee hygiene, PPE usage, and sanitation practices
- Report non-compliance issues and ensure corrective actions are followed
Training & Development
- Conduct regular food safety, GMP, and hygiene training for employees
- Support onboarding training for new employees
- Coordinate annual refresher training programs for all staff
- Maintain training records and ensure compliance with training requirements
Label Control & Backup Support
- Support label verification and control processes for production accuracy
- Act as backup support for label preparation when required (in coordination with Admin Assistant)
- Ensure labels meet regulatory and internal standards for accuracy and traceability
Cross-Department Support
- Work closely with production, packing, warehouse, and management teams
- Support investigations related to quality issues or customer complaints
- Assist in improving processes to reduce waste and improve consistency
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
General Expectations
- Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality
- Flexible to work any shift and extended hours when required based on operational needs
- Be available to support production during critical quality or compliance situations
- Follow all workplace safety and food safety procedures strictly
- Maintain a high level of integrity and accountability in all documentation and reporting
- Work cooperatively with all departments and management
- Maintain cleanliness of inspection tools and work areas
- Ensure strong attention to detail in all verification and documentation tasks
Work Environment & Exposure Conditions
- Exposure to food production environments including flour dust, spices, raw ingredients, and allergens
- Exposure to cold storage, freezer areas, and warm production environments
- Regular presence on production floor with machinery noise and active operations
- Exposure to sanitation chemicals and cleaning agents
- Must strictly follow GMP, HACCP, allergen control, and hygiene requirements at all times
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in food manufacturing quality assurance or HACCP systems required
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, and food safety regulations (Canada experience preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Experience with audits and compliance systems is an asset
- Good communication and training skills
- Ability to work independently and enforce standards professionally
- Certification in HACCP, Food Safety, or related training is an asset
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk through production areas for inspections
- Ability to work in cold, warm, and noisy environments
- Occasional lifting up to 30–40 lbs (inspection or sample handling)
Pay: $24.00-$30.00 per hour
