Lead and coordinate on-site construction contractors and perform electrical duties for the installation, calibration, inspection, testing, commissioning, maintenance, trouble-shooting, alteration, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment to meet Corporate, safety and environmental standards, specifications, rules and regulations.
Perform and oversee the maintenance and inspection of electrical equipment during major plant shutdowns or other electrical maintenance activities, adhering to specific safety guidelines and precautions.
Provide advice and recommendations to co-workers and others on electrical safety.
Provide on site quality assurance of tendered electrical and instrumentation installation contracts to ensure adherence to specifications and to verify any extra construction claims.
Make changes to control programs in conjunction with the automation group.
Procure materials and maintain tools for use on site with respect to the installation, maintenance, alteration and repair of related equipment.
Provide technical support and mentorship in relation to electrical equipment to other staff and provide input to optimize system operations.
Provide input into design, installation and layout specifications with consideration for future operation and maintenance activities.
Participate in the assessment of new technology and resources.
