Autism Unplugged Learning Centre and Pathways Centre for Education are seeking a PhD-level Registered Child Psychologist to provide consulting and assessment services for children and youth.
We are looking for a psychologist with experience completing psychoeducational assessments, adaptive/functional assessments, diagnostic clarification, and written recommendations for children and adolescents with learning, behavioural, developmental, emotional, and neurodevelopmental needs.
This is a flexible opportunity suited to a psychologist who enjoys meaningful assessment work, collaborative consultation, and supporting families who often require clearer direction, documentation, and next steps.
About the Role
The Consulting Psychologist may provide:
- Psychoeducational assessments
- Adaptive functioning assessments
- Cognitive and academic testing
- Learning disability / ADHD / giftedness / intellectual functioning clarification
- Autism/developmental profile consultation, where within scope
- Review of relevant school, clinical, behavioural, and developmental history
- Parent feedback sessions
- Written assessment reports with practical recommendations
- Consultation with our clinical and educational team, with proper consent
- Recommendations to support IEP planning, school placement, programming, accommodations, and family next steps
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is:
- A PhD-level Registered Psychologist
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario
- Authorized to work with children and/or adolescents
- Experienced in clinical psychology, child psychology, or psychoeducational assessment
- Comfortable with autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, intellectual/developmental disabilities, anxiety, emotional regulation concerns, and complex family systems
- Skilled in writing clear, parent-friendly, school-useful reports
- Collaborative, practical, and warm with families
- Able to work independently while also consulting with a multidisciplinary team
Assessment Areas May Include
Depending on the referral question and the psychologist’s scope, assessments may include:
- Cognitive testing
- Academic achievement testing
- Adaptive functioning measures
- Behavioural/emotional rating scales
- Executive functioning measures
- Developmental and psychosocial history
- Diagnostic impressions where appropriate
- Practical recommendations for home, school, and programming
Assets
Experience with any of the following would be considered an asset:
- Autism and neurodevelopmental assessment
- Children with complex behavioural needs
- IEP/accommodation recommendations
- OAP, Passport, or school-related documentation

Compensation
Compensation: Competitive compensation with flexibility for contract or per-assessment arrangements based on the psychologist’s availability, experience, assessment scope, and preferred practice model.

- Report-writing time
- Feedback meeting structure
- Ongoing consultation availability
Requirements
Applicants must have:
- PhD in Psychology or equivalent doctoral-level psychology training
- Registration as a Psychologist, C.Psych., in Ontario with CPBAO
- Current professional liability insurance
- Experience assessing children and/or adolescents
- Ability to complete and sign formal assessment reports independently
- Strong documentation, communication, and ethical practice standards
