Position Summary
The Health & Safety Supervisor is responsible for overseeing workplace health and safety programs, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with local, provincial/state, and federal health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
- Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate and deliver safety training and orientation programs.
- Monitor and maintain safety records, reports, and documentation.
- Lead safety meetings and participate in Joint Health and Safety Committee activities.
- Support managers and employees in identifying and mitigating workplace hazards.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Promote continuous improvement of health and safety performance across all departments.
Qualifications
Required:
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a Health & Safety role, preferably in construction environments.
- Strong knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation and regulations.
- Experience conducting incident investigations and risk assessments.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred:
- Certified Health & Safety designation (CRSP, CHSC, NCSO, or equivalent).
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Experience with COR™, ISO 45001, or similar safety management systems.
Pay: $70,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
