Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Kitchen Manager to oversee daily operations in our bustling food service establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive food industry knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional experiences to our residents. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and service while managing staff and maintaining efficient kitchen operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to lead a team in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all kitchen activities, including food preparation, cooking, and plating to ensure quality standards are met.
- Oversee food handling procedures to maintain compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards.
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
- Lead, train, and motivate kitchen staff, including interviewing and onboarding new team members.
- Monitor staff performance, provide feedback, and foster a positive team environment focused on hospitality excellence.
- Lead Food and Beverage Meetings with residents to listen, identify and resolve any improvements necessary.
- Adhere to Dietary restrictions and offer alternatives where needed.
- Follow the Occupational Health and Safety 15 Elements and lead by example to the team.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area.
- Supervise Dietary Aides and assist in training, coaching and development of service and staff.
- Implement operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency and service quality.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and restaurant management roles within the food industry.
- Prior supervising experience with demonstrated leadership in a hospitality, healthcare and/or restaurant setting.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to manage staff effectively and resolve issues promptly.
- Background in hospitality or hotel experience is a plus; barista or serving experience is advantageous.
- Ability to lead a team through effective communication, training, and performance management.
- Ability to obtain; Criminal Code of Conduct, First Aid and CPR training, Tuberculosis Testing, Immunization Records.
Pay: From $48,000.00 per year
