Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our veterinary team. This vital role supports veterinarians in providing high-quality care to animals and their owners. Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and medical procedures
- Collect and prepare laboratory samples for testing, including blood, urine, and tissue samples
- Perform diagnostic tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and other laboratory procedures
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian
- Monitor patient vital signs and provide supportive care during recovery
- Maintain detailed medical records of all treatments, procedures, and observations
- Educate pet owners on post-treatment care, medication administration, and preventive health measures
- Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of surgical instruments and treatment areas
- Assist with inventory management of medical supplies and pharmaceuticals
Experience
- Prior laboratory experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided for specific tasks
- Previous experience working with animals in a veterinary or animal care setting is advantageous
- Strong understanding of animal anatomy, physiology, and common veterinary practices
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently in a busy environment
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine love for animals and their well-being
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
Experience:
- Veterinary Technician: 2 years (preferred)
