Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipper/Receiver to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately loading, unloading, and managing inventory in a fast-paced distribution environment. This role requires proficiency with warehouse management systems, order fulfillment processes, and equipment operation such as forklifts and reach trucks. The Shipper/Receiver plays a crucial part in ensuring timely shipping and receiving operations to support seamless warehouse distribution and e-commerce order processing.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload shipments using forklifts, reach trucks, and other warehouse equipment
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against packing lists and purchase orders
- Prepare products for shipment by packaging, labeling, and staging orders
- Pick, pack, and fulfill customer orders accurately using order picker tools
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements within the warehouse management system
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts to ensure stock accuracy
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures during all loading, unloading, and storage activities
- Support warehouse distribution operations to optimize workflow efficiency
Qualifications
- Prior experience in shipping & receiving or warehouse distribution preferred, prior work within a lumber yard would be a asset.
- Valid forklift certification or experience operating forklifts and reach trucks required
- Strong basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying shipments
- Experience with order picking, order fulfillment, packaging, and load & unload procedures
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently
- Good organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and inventory management
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and safety standards
- Warehouse experience in e-commerce or similar industries is desirable
