Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Front of House Manager to oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional customer service and smooth workflow. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive food industry knowledge, and a passion for hospitality. This role involves supervising staff, managing customer interactions, and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. The Front of House Manager will play a key role in creating a welcoming environment that promotes team collaboration and guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Supervise front-of-house staff, including interviewing, training, and scheduling team members
- Oversee food service operations to ensure timely and accurate order delivery
- Manage POS systems such as Micros POS for transactions and reporting
- Ensure adherence to food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally to enhance guest experience
- Coordinate with kitchen staff on food preparation and service flow
- Monitor cleanliness and organization of dining areas in compliance with health regulations
- Assist in supervising barista services or bar operations if applicable
- Lead team meetings to communicate expectations, updates, and training initiatives
- Support restaurant management in implementing policies and achieving operational goals
- Monitor daily sales performance, guest counts, average check size, and labor cost to ensure targets are achieved
- Analyze weekly and monthly sales reports, identify trends, and develop action plans to improve results
- Control labor costs through efficient scheduling, productivity management, and staffing optimization
- Monitor food and beverage costs, minimize waste, and ensure proper inventory control procedures are followed
- Drive sales growth through upselling, promotional execution, guest engagement, and team coaching
- Establish clear daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals and ensure all team members are aligned and accountable
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) including sales, labor %, food cost %, guest satisfaction, and employee productivity
- Lead pre-shift and post-shift meetings to communicate sales objectives, operational priorities, and performance expectations
- Identify operational challenges and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase profitability and efficiency
- Develop and mentor team members to build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, guest experience, and results
- Ensure all managers and supervisors understand financial targets and actively contribute to achieving company goals
- Review daily financial results and take corrective action immediately when sales, labor, or cost targets are not being met
- Maximize revenue opportunities by improving guest retention, increasing average spending per guest, and enhancing overall dining experience
- Maintain accountability for achieving monthly sales, profitability, and operational performance targets established by management
Financial & Performance Management
- Accountable for achieving monthly sales targets, labor cost targets, and profitability goals
- Monitor daily sales, labor %, food cost %, and guest spending trends, taking immediate action when performance falls below target
- Lead and execute sales-building initiatives to increase guest counts, average check size, and overall restaurant revenue
- Analyze business performance and develop action plans to close gaps between current results and company goals
