Daytime Cook — Black Rabbit
Black Rabbit is a small, growing restaurant in Nanaimo. We cook everything from scratch and our menu changes every four months, so this kitchen is not a place to run on autopilot. We're looking for a daytime cook who is a hard worker, self sufficient, and picks things up fast.
Full-time, 4-5 days a week, including Saturday and Sunday brunch every week. Early starts. $21-25/hr depending on experience.
Responsibilities
- Execute our seasonal menus with consistency and accuracy, following recipes and specs set by the head chef
- Set up and break down the line for daytime and brunch service
- Learn new dishes and techniques as the menu changes each season, and retain them after being shown once or twice
- Maintain a clean, organized station and follow proper food safety practices
- Work efficiently with the team through the push of a busy brunch service
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant or professional kitchen experience required
- Comfortable executing recipes with precision and consistency
- Reliable, punctual, and able to take direction and run with it
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Must be available every Saturday and Sunday for brunch
You'll get a proper walkthrough on each new seasonal menu. After that we trust you to own it.
