Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Community Support Worker to provide essential assistance and support to individuals with disabilities within our community. This role involves fostering independence, ensuring safety, and promoting well-being through personalized care and communication. The ideal candidate will be committed to making a positive impact in the lives of those they serve, demonstrating patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Pick up client from school and escort to their residence. Shift is Monday to Thursday from 2:00pm-5:00pm, starting in September.
- Support participation in community activities, outings, and recreational events to promote social engagement
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and protocols
- Implement individualized care plans developed in collaboration with healthcare professionals and families
- Monitor and document clients’ progress, behaviors, and any changes in health or behavior patterns
- Provide caregiving support with patience, respect, and sensitivity to each individual’s unique needs
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols and reporting concerns promptly
Skills
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in caregiving roles is highly valued
- Knowledge of special education principles is a plus for supporting diverse needs
- Strong communication skills are essential for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for others
- Patience, adaptability, and excellent interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships
Pay: $22.00-$24.50 per hour
