International MedSpa Academy is seeking an exceptional Medical Aesthetics Trainer to join our Calgary flagship location and become an integral part of the IMA training system.
This is not a conventional beauty-school educator position. It is an elite level trainer with knowledge and skillset based in true cosmetic medicine.
IMA operates within a physician-led medical aesthetics environment where aesthetics, anatomy, science, client experience, business and technical execution are taught as parts of the same discipline. Our training is highly structured, practical and performance-driven.
We are looking for someone who is unusually good at both learning and teaching.
You may already be an educator, senior medical aesthetician, laser technician, clinical trainer or highly experienced aesthetics professional. Your title matters less than your ability to understand sophisticated concepts quickly, master a system, and make that system understandable to someone else.
The Role
You will work closely with IMA’s founder and physician educator to master the Academy’s methods and ultimately help deliver them consistently across IMA and affiliated medspa locations.
Your work will include:
* Training medical aesthetics staff in technical skills, treatments, client experience and service delivery
* Breaking complex treatments and concepts into clear, teachable components
* Coaching individuals with different learning speeds and experience levels
* Evaluating competency and identifying where additional training is required
* Moving comfortably between technical training, practical skills, client communication and commercial principles
* Helping coordinate structured training during new-location launches
* Maintaining exceptional consistency in standards across trainees and locations
* Working independently once competency in IMA methodology has been demonstrated
* Travelling periodically for training and medspa launches

Experience:
Applicants should have meaningful prior experience in medical aesthetics or professional aesthetics, ideally within or alongside a physician-led medical or cosmetic practice.
Relevant experience may include:
* Laser and energy-based treatments
* Advanced skin treatments and medical or advanced facials
* Microneedling
* Radiofrequency treatments
* CoolSculpting or other body-contouring technologies
* Assisting with cosmetic injectable treatments
* Medical aesthetics consultations and treatment planning
* Client education, treatment coordination and sales
* Medical aesthetics education or staff training
Previous training experience is strongly preferred, although exceptional candidates with substantial industry experience and demonstrated teaching ability will also be considered.
Strong practical ability and comfort working in a hands-on training environment are essential.
