Staff Plus is hiring an experienced Food Production Machine Operator for a food manufacturing facility. The Food Production Machine Operator will set up, operate, monitor, and adjust food production equipment to keep the production line running safely, efficiently, and according to product quality and customer specifications. This role requires at least one year of machine operating experience in a food manufacturing environment, including equipment changeovers, machine adjustments, production monitoring, and troubleshooting minor mechanical issues.
Shift: Day shift, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Pay Rate: $18.18/hour
What You’ll Do
- Set up production lines and reassemble equipment before operation
- Calibrate machinery and complete equipment or parts changeovers
- Inspect equipment and workstations before production begins
- Operate production equipment and monitor line performance
- Troubleshoot and correct minor mechanical stoppages
- Adjust equipment when quality defects or production issues are identified
- Complete quality checks in accordance with food safety requirements
- Accurately complete pre-operational inspections, production documentation, and daily productivity reports
- Coordinate raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished products with material handlers
- Maintain housekeeping and complete daily cleaning of the assigned production area
- Follow all workplace safety, food safety, and quality procedures
What You’ll Need
- Minimum one year of machine operating experience in a food manufacturing environment is required
- Mechanical aptitude or previous mechanical experience is an asset
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot minor equipment issues
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to accurately complete production and quality documentation
- Ability to lift and manually move products weighing up to 50 lb
- Mechanical experience is a bonus
- Minimum of 1 year in machine operation in food manufacturing environment is mandatory
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral Working Conditions/Potential Hazards
- Temperature changing environment: humidity, heat, cold
- Exposure to wet conditions, slippery floors
- Exposure to food odors
- Possibility for heaving lifting, manually moving products up to 50lbs
