Position Summary
The Group Sales and Events Coordinator will manage all inbound sales inquiries and ensure clear, timely communication between the Events Manager, clients, and internal teams, facilitating cross-departmental coordination and planning.
As the Group Sales and Events Coordinator, you are at the forefront of creating and executing memorable experiences for our guests and clients. You will be working in a closely knit team where a “Yes, And” attitude and ensemble-orientation is an absolute must.
This is a full-time salaried position. The Second City understands that evening hours might be a requirement of this role and so acknowledges that a later start-time to in-office work hours may be required. The ideal candidate for this position is available to work a flexible schedule if needed and will also have some degree of flexibility to set their own schedule.
The Group Sales and Events Coordinator operates in an engaging and creative professional office environment and requires a minimum of 3 in-office workdays a week.
- This role will be based in Second City’s Toronto theatre at 1 York Street.
- Salary - $55,000-$60,000 CAD with an OTE of up to $75,000 CAD

Key Responsibilities
Sales Support & Lead Management
- Actively contributes to achieving approximately $300,000 CAD target in annual revenue through group sales and private workshop bookings.
- Execute for the full sales cycle from lead generation to contract execution.
- Prepare contracts, Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) & invoices. Track deposits and final payments.
- Track, prioritize, and organize all assigned incoming event sales leads
- Serve as the point of contact for event and group sales inquiries, providing timely and professional responses for group sales under 40 guests.
- Identify underdeveloped sales opportunities and help design service solutions to maximize potential.
- Coordinate and maintain all client files, including audio/visual needs, room layouts, and key correspondence.
Event Execution & Logistics
- Provide on-site support for events, including but not limited to setup and teardown, ensuring a seamless guest experience.
- Stay up to date on internal calendar invites regarding room bookings and availability.
- Create comprehensive floor plans for upcoming events, facilitating seamless coordination between Sales, Production, and internal operational teams.
- Assist in the planning and execution of internal events, including but not limited to: holiday parties, marketing events, recurring trivia partnerships and Sporting events
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with the marketing team to support promotional initiatives for group sales related initiative, partner visits, influencer engagement, and outreach efforts (e.g., Destination Toronto).
- Support relationships in the travel and tourism sector (tour operators, hotel concierges, conference organizers).
- Coordinate with the finance team to ensure accurate client settlements and billing.
- Partner with internal departments—including Production, Training Centre, and Operations, Technical—to ensure smooth event execution.
Relationship & Community Engagement
- Assist in organizing and staffing group sales events, including pre-show receptions, client appreciation events, and site visits.
- Greet groups and provide front-line hospitality support as part of our engagement strategy.
- Maintain strong internal relationships to support collaborative, cross-departmental planning.

Qualifications
- The ideal Group Sales and Events Coordinator will have experience of at least 2 years of providing sales support in an entertainment, attractions, or travel & tourism setting.
- Entrepreneurial, outgoing, and personable, with a natural ability to network and build meaningful relationships.
- Highly developed customer service skills, genuinely warm presence, a sincere and outgoing nature, strive for service excellence.
- Functional knowledge of event ticketing and hands-on experience with ticketing systems preferred.
- Experience event coordinating within a sales environment.
- Demonstrated history of exceeding sales goals and quotas.
- Experience in supporting strategic partnerships and audience development programs.
- Demonstrated experience maintaining relationships with diverse audiences.
- Strong written and oral communications skills. You love interacting with people, you will be around them a lot to get this job done!
- You have strong organizational skills and the ability to remain flexible to changing business needs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience with Salesforce and Tripleseat preferred but not required.
- Physical Demands: This position involves regular walking, standing, sitting for extended periods of time, hearing, and talking. May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching. May involve moving or lifting items no more than 50 pounds.
