Imagine Leadership places experienced learning and training professionals into meaningful public-sector work. We're hiring a Senior Trainer to lead training for a large enterprise software rollout at a public-sector client, owning training end to end (strategy, design, delivery, and keeping it current) and setting the standard for how a diverse, organization-wide audience learns a major new system. You'll work closely with program leadership, subject-matter experts, and a change network, and provide guidance to junior trainers.
You'd be hired by Imagine Leadership on a fixed-term basis and placed on assignment with a public-sector client to support their programs. You'd work on-site with the client's team.
What you'll do
- Lead organization-wide training by defining role-based training strategies, scope, delivery approach (instructor-led, virtual, blended, and self-paced), and success measures aligned to business outcomes.
- Own the end-to-end design, development, and delivery of complex, multi-audience learning solutions, making sure materials meet established templates, accessibility considerations, and program standards.
- Partner with program leadership, business process owners, SMEs, vendors, and the change network to validate learning needs, confirm readiness (content, environments, job aids), and align deployment timing.
- Establish and enforce training governance - intake and prioritization, review and approval cycles, quality assurance, version control, and maintenance - so content stays accurate and current as processes and releases evolve.
- Define the evaluation and continuous-improvement approach (attendance, learner feedback, knowledge checks, performance insights), analyze themes, and drive prioritized updates to training and supporting materials.
- Coach and mentor junior trainers and contributors, supporting consistent delivery, strong learner support, and high-quality training artifacts.
- Use approved digital, collaboration, and AI tools to improve content development, delivery, stakeholder engagement, and reporting.
Must have
- You can attest that you have no conflict of interest.
- University graduation in a related field (such as Adult Education, Instructional Design, Business Administration or related) with 4 years progressively related experience.
- Clear verbal and written communication, and the ability to interact professionally.
- The ability to manage multiple projects at once and prioritize tasks.
- The ability to work with and interact professionally with a diverse group.
- 4+ years of demonstrated knowledge of training needs analysis and competency development frameworks.
- 6+ years developing and teaching training materials, including developing computer-based training modules/training videos.
- 4+ years leading curriculum design projects from inception to completion.
- 4+ years with a variety of learning/training concepts and principles, including adult learning training techniques.
- 4+ years of professional experience in learning and development.
Nice to have
- 4+ years of advanced proficiency with MS Office tools and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- 4+ years with training evaluation methods, including formative and summative evaluation.

- 4+ years developing computer-based training videos using Adobe Captivate or Articulate Storyline.
- 4+ years with digital adoption tools (for example, WalkMe) for creating in-application guidance.
- 4+ years of working knowledge of SAP applications.
