We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optician, Student Optician, or Intern Optician to join our dynamic optical team. Responsibilities
- Assist customers in selecting eyeglasses and contact lenses, providing knowledgeable product recommendations.
- Take precise measurements for eyewear fitting, including pupillary distance and frame sizing.
- Prepare and verify lenses using laboratory equipment, ensuring quality standards are met.
- Educate patients on lens options, frame styles, and proper eyewear care.
- Support the optical team with inventory management, stock organization, and product displays.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Collaborate with optometrists and other team members to ensure seamless patient service.
- Stay informed about the latest optical products, technology, and industry trends.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology related to eye care is preferred.
- Laboratory experience or prior optical experience is a plus but not required; training will be provided.
- Retail sales or customer service experience, especially in a retail environment, is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to educate and assist customers effectively.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new procedures or technologies such as Epic or retail management systems.
- A professional attitude with a genuine interest in eye health and customer satisfaction.
- For internship positions, enrollment in relevant educational programs or pursuing certification in optometry or optical sciences is desirable.
