We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organized Signage Estimator/Project Manager to join our team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate pricing and profitable projects by evaluating project requirements, material and labor costs, vendor pricing, and production methods. This individual works closely with the sales team, project managers, and vendors to generate timely and competitive quotes for both in-house and subcontracted signage work.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze drawings, specifications, site photos, and RFQs to develop detailed estimates.
- Prepare and submit accurate quotations based on internal cost structures and external vendor pricing.
- Maintain and enforce profit margin policies for in-house and vended products.
- Liaise with vendors and subcontractors to gather competitive pricing for materials, fabrication, and installation.
- Ensure all estimates account for material, labor, overhead, design, installation, and risk contingencies.
- Flag and escalate high-value quotes or those outside pricing policy to management for approval.
- Collaborate with the sales and design teams to clarify scope and feasibility of projects.
- Track and log quoting activity, maintaining clear documentation and assumptions for each estimate.
- Monitor and update the pricing database with current vendor rates and internal production costs.
- Participate in bid and tender preparation, ensuring compliance with deadlines and documentation requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in estimating, preferably within signage, construction, or print industries.
- Strong understanding of signage materials, production methods, and installation processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software; familiarity with sign design files (PDF, AI, CAD) is an asset.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- High attention to detail and organizational ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills for liaising with vendors and internal teams.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, site plans, and technical specifications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of local municipal sign permit processes.
- Experience with large-format printing, vinyl application, dimensional signage, and illuminated signs.
