Job Summary
Provides for the safe and continued operation of all equipment, systems and processes through preventative and on demand maintenance in accordance with all applicable legislation, acts and codes.
Qualifications & Experience
- Successful completion of a high school diploma or recognized equivalent.
- Construction and Maintenance Electrician license (309A), Industrial Mechanic Millwright license (433A), Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic (313A) General Carpenter (403A), and Building Operator Certification, all considered assets.
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a maintenance department preferably in a hospital setting.
- Working knowledge of Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning systems, Building Automation Systems and the Ontario Building Code.
- Valid Ontario drivers’ license an asset.
Skills & Abilities
- General computer skills.
- Proven ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written English instructions.
- Required to read blueprints, specifications and manuals of installation.
- Numerical ability to assist in estimates for construction, maintenance and repair.
- Able to meet the physical demands of the job with continuance walking, bending, twisting, pulling, pushing, lifting and outside work (rain, snow, hot, cold) required.
- Able to maintain detailed preventative maintenance records.
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service and teamwork.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize workloads and manage stressful work environments.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and willingness to be flexible to meet department needs.

Hours of Work: Weekdays and available for On Call rotation. May be required to work weekends.
