DeFord Contracting Inc. is looking for an experienced and hardworking Truck & Trailer Heavy Equipment Technician for Civil Construction city projects in and around the Greater Edmonton Area.

Responsibilities:
- Interface with field staff in order to diagnose repairs
- Work with the Fleet Manager on various tasks
- Provide support with reference to on-site safety requirements
- Look after on-highway trucks and trailers
- Help with CVIP inspections and running repairs
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting Cummings and Detroit trucks
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-5 years’ experience - experience working in civil construction is considered an asset
- Experience working on highway commercial vehicles; considered an asset
- Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification; considered an asset
- OR minimum 2nd Year Apprentice with experience
- Must possess valid Driver’s Licence; Class 3 considered an asset
- Must possess CVIP licence
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal
- Understanding of the Caterpillar product line, considered an asset
- Must possess a strong dedication to safety
- Engine and/or component rebuilding experience, considered an asset
- Transmission or Hydraulic testing, considered an asset
- Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision
- Some computer skills needed
- Reliable transportation and a positive attitude
