About NAHLA Community
NAHLA Community is a women’s support network creating spaces for women to connect, slow down, be witnessed, and build meaningful community.
We host weekly women’s circles across multiple communities in the Lower Mainland and surrounding regions, as well as seasonal retreats in beautiful backcountry settings. Our gatherings are rooted in connection, belonging, nature, reflection, and authenticity.
We’re looking for a creative, community-minded woman to join us as our Volunteer Social Media & Community Marketing Coordinator and help share the NAHLA experience with more women.
The Role
This is a hands-on, creative, remote volunteer role for someone who understands social media, has a strong visual eye, and genuinely connects with what NAHLA is creating.
You’ll be responsible for helping NAHLA maintain a consistent and engaging presence on Instagram and Facebook, with a focus on promoting our weekly circles, seasonal retreats, and broader community.
You’ll work closely with the NAHLA team to translate upcoming offerings into compelling social content, from beautifully designed graphics and captions to stories and promotional campaigns that encourage women to join us.
This role would be a great fit for someone who loves community building, storytelling, women’s spaces, nature, wellness, creativity, and social media.
What You’ll Do
Social Media Content:
* Create and maintain a regular posting schedule for Instagram and Facebook
* Develop posts, carousels, stories, reels, and promotional content for upcoming circles and retreats
* Write warm, compelling, on-brand captions and promotional copy
* Create visual assets that align with the NAHLA brand, aesthetic, and values
* Repurpose existing NAHLA photography, video, testimonials, and content into engaging social posts
* Highlight the experience and value of attending NAHLA circles and retreats
* Help tell the ongoing story of the NAHLA community through social media
Marketing & Registration Growth
* Create promotional campaigns around upcoming circles and retreats
* Develop content designed to generate registrations and awareness
* Use unique links, codes, or other tracking methods to help identify registrations generated through your content
* Experiment with different content formats, messaging, and calls-to-action to see what resonates
* Help increase awareness of NAHLA offerings across the Lower Mainland and surrounding communities
Brand & Community
* Maintain consistency in NAHLA’s visual identity, tone, messaging, and overall online presence
* Help ensure women encountering NAHLA online understand who we are and what we offer
* Capture and communicate the feeling of NAHLA: warmth, authenticity, empowerment, connection, nature, depth, and belonging
* Stay connected with upcoming circles and retreats so content feels timely and genuine
What We’re Looking For
You don’t need to be a professional marketer. We’re looking for someone who is creative, experienced, reliable, intuitive, and excited about what NAHLA is creating.
You might be a great fit if you:
* Have experience managing Instagram and/or Facebook for an organization, community, or personal project
* Have a strong eye for aesthetics and visual storytelling
* Enjoy creating graphics and social content using tools such as Canva, Adobe Express, or similar platforms
* Have strong writing and communication skills
* Understand what makes social content engaging and shareable
* Are comfortable working independently and taking initiative
* Are organized and able to consistently meet agreed-upon posting deadlines
* Are genuinely aligned with NAHLA’s values and interested in women’s community and connection
* Live in or around the Lower Mainland, Sea to Sky, Sunshine Coast, Gulf Islands, or surrounding BC communities (ideal but not a necessity)
* Ideally have some familiarity with the local communities and social landscape in these areas
The Time Commitment
This is a flexible volunteer position, with the expectation of maintaining a consistent weekly social media presence.
The exact schedule and workload will be collaboratively established based on NAHLA’s upcoming circles, retreats, and seasonal calendar.
We’re looking for someone who can commit to the role consistently over time rather than someone looking for a short-term project.
What You’ll Receive
In exchange for your time and creativity, you’ll receive:
* Free participation in NAHLA women’s weekly circles in your area
* Free participation in NAHLA seasonal retreats, subject to availability and the specific retreat format
* Commission earned on registrations directly generated through your promotional posts and unique tracking link
Community & experience
* Become part of NAHLA Community
* Attend and experience the circles and retreats you’re helping to promote
* Build experience in social media marketing, content creation, community marketing, and brand storytelling
A Note About the Role
This isn’t about creating a highly polished, corporate social media feed.
We want NAHLA’s online presence to feel real, powerful, grounded, warm, and human; something that gives women a genuine sense of what it feels like to be part of this community.
We’re looking for someone who can capture that feeling and communicate it through words and visuals.
How to Apply
If this sounds like something you’d love to be part of, we’d love to hear from you.
Please email [email protected] with:
* An introduction about yourself and why NAHLA resonates with you
* Your social media/content creation experience
* Examples of Instagram, Facebook, Canva, photography, copywriting, or other creative work you’ve created, if available
* Your general availability and anticipated commitment
* Your location
We look forward to hearing from you.
