Electrician
Purpose
The Electricians are responsible for:
- The safe installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems associated with industrial pumping equipment and diesel-powered machinery. This role operates within both shop and field environments, including marine and remote job sites, and plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with all applicable HSSE policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Providing hands-on technical expertise in troubleshooting and maintaining motors, control systems, and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) to ensure all equipment operates safely, reliably, and in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow company processes and company safe work procedures and practices;
- Work within company, customer, and other existing standards and regulations pertaining to their scope of work;
- Install, troubleshoot, inspect and repair electrical systems on:
- Industrial pumps and dewatering systems
- Diesel engines and associated control systems
- Generators, panels, and auxiliary equipment
- Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) for motors and pump systems
- Supervising and identifying any fault in operating the equipment or in relation to any material or equipment, then notifying the supervisors;
- Interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals
- Perform diagnostics, corrective, and preventative maintenance on electrical faults
- Inspect wiring, connections, and components for wear, damage, or failures
- Support equipment commissioning and decommissioning
- Work collaboratively with mechanical, operations, and site teams
- Report and rectify potential hazards, accidents, and near misses;
- Adhere to all company HSSE policies, procedures, and safe work practices

Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read, write, and understand English
- Must possess valid driver’s license with acceptable abstract
- Must participate in and pass screening tests for drugs, alcohol, and other controlled substances
- Must participate in and pass a physical fitness assessment
- Completion of Pumps 101 and internal training
- Relatable trades certificate is considered an asset
Work Environment
- Working in a shop environment with occasional travel to job sites as required
- Working around engines and rotating equipment
- Occasional exposure to noisy, dusty, and/ or wet environments
- Occasional exposure to poor weather conditions
- Interaction with management, employees, customers, and contractors
Physical Demands
- Able to workday shifts up to 12 hours long with irregular break schedules
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Capable of moving over and around obstacles
- Standing, walking, bending for extended periods
- Capable of lifting large or heavy loads sometimes up to 24 kg
