The Roc Doc Ventures Ltd. is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our team. We are looking for a highly motivated professional with a strong background in demolition, deconstruction, and hazardous materials abatement estimating.
Position Overview
The Senior Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for demolition and abatement projects throughout British Columbia. The successful candidate will work closely with management, project teams, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure bids are thorough, competitive, and submitted on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project drawings, specifications, reports, and tender documents.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, bid proposals, and tender submissions for demolition and abatement projects.
- Complete quantity take-offs and project cost analyses.
- Obtain and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Conduct site visits and attend pre-bid meetings when required.
- Identify project risks, challenges, and opportunities during the estimating process.
- Coordinate with project managers and operations personnel to develop accurate project budgets and schedules.
- Maintain estimating databases and historical cost records.
- Ensure all estimates and submissions meet company standards and client requirements.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of estimating experience in demolition, deconstruction, and/or hazardous materials abatement.
- Thorough understanding of demolition methods, project sequencing, equipment, waste management, and disposal requirements.
- Knowledge of asbestos, lead, mould, and other hazardous materials abatement practices is considered a strong asset.
- Proficiency with industry-standard estimating software, Microsoft Office Suite, and construction management platforms.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously.
- Valid driver's license required.
