About AMZ Prep
AMZ Prep is the Amazon-first commerce enablement company, powered by ALI (Artificial Logistics Intelligence). We operate 22+ fulfillment centers across the US and Canada and provide brands and 3PLs with a physical intelligence layer for commerce: the network, the routing, and the data to move product faster and more cost-effectively than the market.
We are not a traditional 3PL. We are a technology company that runs world-class operations, and the Solutions / Sales Engineer is where that technology and those operations meet the customer.
Role Overview
The Solutions Engineer is the pre-sales solution designer for our deals. Operating at the intersection of Sales and Operations, this role translates a prospect's order profile into an engineered solution design, a defensible cost proposal, and a network plan that Operations can execute. The Solutions Engineer holds quoting authority and owns the cost-to-serve models that determine deal profitability, designs the fulfillment solution against engineered operating standards, and partners with the Network team to validate and approve facility placement and routing before a price is committed.
Network placement and routing decisions are made in partnership with the Network owner, who holds final approval on capacity and facility assignment. The Solutions Engineer designs the solution, models the economics, and brings a recommended network plan to Network for sign-off, then carries the approved solution from proposal through go-live.
This is a high-impact Sales Operations seat for someone who combines commercial instinct with operational rigor and can bring structure and organization to a fast-moving sales motion.
Key Responsibilities
Quoting and Pricing
- Build accurate, margin-aware quotes across the full service stack, including inbound receiving, storage, pick and pack, kitting, value-added services, and outbound freight and parcel.
- Translate discovery and order profiles into complete cost proposals and solution designs ready for customer sign-off.
- Model custom rate cards and non-standard pricing that win deals while protecting margin, and gatekeep pricing exceptions before they reach the P&L.
- Maintain quote turnaround as a service-level commitment, delivering quotes same-day or next-day.
- Act as the primary liaison between Sales, Operations, and Finance on all pricing matters.
Solution Design and Network Coordination
- Design the fulfillment solution for each opportunity against engineered processing-time standards, including distribution processes and resource summaries that Operations can staff and run.
- Develop a recommended network plan (facility, lane, capacity, and cost-to-serve) and bring it to the Network owner for validation and approval before a price is committed.
- Partner with the Network team on feasibility, capacity, and facility assignment, treating Network as the approval authority on placement and routing.
- Conduct feasibility checks across operational workflows and the ALI platform early in the deal cycle, and surface risks and gaps to Sales, Network, and Operations.
- Report cost, capacity, and feasibility findings in a clear, decision-ready format that supports fast Network sign-off.
Data Analysis and Modeling
- Analyze prospect order profiles, SKU velocity, shipping zones, and channel mix to design the appropriate solution for each account.
- Build the per-account cost-to-serve and unit economics models that underpin every quote.
- Use ALI and internal reporting to validate assumptions and convert operational data into pricing and network decisions.
- Develop repeatable models and frameworks that allow the quoting function to scale without losing rigor.
Post-Sales Planning and Handoff
- Own the handoff from Sales to Implementation and Operations, including the implementation roadmap and onboarding plan.
- Translate the sold solution into an executable go-live plan covering timelines, responsibilities, integrations, and SLAs.
- Remain accountable through go-live to ensure each account launches on time, on budget, and consistent with what was quoted.
- Feed learnings from launches back into pricing, network design, and the ALI roadmap.
Sales Operations
- Bring 3PL operational discipline and organization to the sales motion.
- Manage the deal desk, including the quote pipeline, pricing exceptions, and solution-data hygiene in the CRM.
- Own the documentation layer, including solution summaries, pricing briefs, and internal approvals.
Qualifications
- Experience in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, Sales Operations, or 3PL operations, ideally spanning more than one of these.
- Strong command of fulfillment and freight cost structures, including receiving, storage, pick and pack, value-added services, parcel, and middle mile.
- Advanced data and modeling skills, with fluency in spreadsheets, rate cards, and unit economics, and the ability to defend a number.
- Sound commercial judgment to hold quoting authority, including knowing when to price aggressively and when to escalate.
- Operational rigor and organization, with the ability to bring structure to ambiguity and keep a deal desk clean.
- Clear communication skills, with a proven ability to translate technical and operational constraints into business outcomes for both customers and internal teams.
How We Work
Our team operates on four core values:
- Win Relentlessly. Quotes go out same day. Deals do not stall on our desks.
- Own the Outcome. We own the number, the network plan, and the handoff, without deflecting to Sales or Operations.
- Be Humbly Confident. We exercise quoting authority with judgment rather than ego, and escalate when the margin math calls for it.
- Obsess Over Data. Every price is modeled and every network decision is defensible. Cost-to-serve is never a guess.
Pay: $79,748.00-$108,209.00 per year
