Job Title: Hospitality Operations Manager / General Manager

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced, locally-based Hospitality Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day operations and play a pivotal role in our property’s upcoming strategic evolution (transitioning to a franchise, optimizing for a future sale, and executing targeted capital improvements).
The ideal candidate possesses deep, hands-on operational knowledge of front desk and housekeeping management, pairs it with strong financial acumen, and has the strategic mindset needed to drive revenue and report directly to ownership/corporate.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Transition & Capital Planning
- Ownership Collaboration: Partner closely with ownership to prepare the property for a franchise transition or a successful sale.
- Capital Improvement: Identify, suggest, and oversee targeted capital expenditure (CapEx) projects designed to maximize property value and enhance the guest experience.
- Head Office Liaison: Participate in bi-weekly alignment meetings with the head office to report on KPIs, project timelines, and operational health.
Daily Operations & SOP Management
- Standard Operating Procedures: Review, refine, and enforce rigorous SOPs across front desk and housekeeping departments to ensure seamless daily execution.
- Staff Leadership: Recruit, onboard, train, and mentor staff, fostering a culture of accountability and high-quality guest service.
- Property Maintenance: Ensure the physical asset is meticulously maintained; proactively manage routine maintenance and address facility issues immediately.
Financial Controls, Sales & Marketing
- Daily Reconciliation: Review and reconcile daily financial activity, ensuring accurate data entry and seamless handoffs to the accounting team.
- Revenue Generation: Actively participate in local sales and marketing initiatives to drive occupancy, corporate bookings, and brand awareness.
Qualifications & Experience
- Location: Must be local to the Red Deer city /Area region with strong knowledge of the local market.
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years in hospitality management (General Manager, Assistant GM, or Operations Manager).
- Transition Experience: Prior experience guiding a property through a brand transition, franchise implementation, or sale preparation is highly preferred.
- Operational Expertise: Expert-level understanding of Front Office, Property Management Systems (PMS), Housekeeping workflows, and preventative maintenance.
- Financial Literacy: Strong ability to read P&L statements, manage budgets, and reconcile daily night audit/financial activity for accounting.
- Leadership Style: A hands-on leader who is equally comfortable training a front desk agent, inspecting rooms, or presenting a capital budget to stakeholders.
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
