We are seeking a reliable, organized, and hockey-savvy League Convenor to oversee our current and future hockey league seasons. As one of the on-site representatives, you will ensure that league games run smoothly, safely, and on schedule. You will act as a main point of contact for players, and game officials, handling logistics and resolving any issues that arise during game nights.
Key Responsibilities
- Game Night Operations: Arrive early to ensure timekeepers and referees are present for their shifts, distribute official gamesheets, and ensure the ice is ready for puck drop.
- Schedule Management: Keep games running on time to respect ice permits and avoid delays.
- Roster & Stat Tracking: Verify player eligibility, collect signed rosters, and ensure accurate tracking of statistics.
- Rules Enforcement: Ensure all league rules, safety protocols, and code of conduct policies are strictly followed by participants and spectators.
- Dispute Resolution: Act as the first line of mediation for on-ice or bench disputes, logging any major penalties or incidents for league discipline review.
- Official Liaison: Coordinate with referees and timekeepers to ensure they have the necessary equipment and support.
Qualifications & Skills
- Hockey Knowledge: Deep understanding of hockey rules, terminology, and standard league structures.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to manage passionate players and officials firmly and respectfully.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to stay calm under pressure and make quick, fair decisions during high-stakes game situations.
- Availability: Must be fully available to work evenings throughout the week according to the league schedule.
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
