Job description
The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for quality assurance and food safety initiatives throughout the facility with a focus on implementation and maintenance of the SQF System and CFIA regulations.
- Maintain and supervise daily Food Safety & Quality Tasks (FSQA)
- Ensures daily, weekly, monthly documentations from all departments are completed correctly, verified, and stored properly
- Maintain, Oversee, and Implement written FSQA policies and procedures to ensure compliance
- Provide FSQA Training to all departments
- Conduct scheduled FSQA tasks(Inspections, Product Sampling, EMP, ATP, Allergens, etc)
- Makes detailed observations; analyzes data, and interprets results
- Update and the ability to write detailed SOPs, Reports and Summaries
- Update and the ability to create new forms, records, tables, charts, etc
- Update and maintain HACCP Plan
- Read and comprehend entire sites Food Safety Plans
- Organize, assign, and review tasks completed by QA Team
- Provide support, guidance and resolve FSQA concerns for all departments
- Liaison with CFIA, GFSI and Customers for audits and requests
- Conduct Traceability Exercises, CAPAs, Risk Assessments, Verifications and Validation tasks
- Records and interprets results to present to Management
- Act as “QA Manager” when manager is Off-site
- Fill in for “QA Technician” task as required
- Able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, customer-focused environment
- Work on “The Floor / Line / Area” when required
- 30% Desk 70% Floor
- Reports to QA Manager

Probationary Period: 3-months
Work Location: GTA
Shift Requirement: Must be flexible to work mornings and afternoons, including weekends.

Qualifications:
1. Degree/Diploma in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field of study
2. 4-5 years’ experience in a food production environment with at least 1 year of experience in a supervisory capacity.
3. Excellent knowledge of HACCP, CFIA, GFSI system standards
a. CFIA experience and SQFP Prefer
4. Knowledge of food safety regulations and guidelines
5. Shows initiative and able to work as part of a team with other departments and resolve differences effectively
6. Fast learner and work with minimal supervision
7. Plan, Schedule, and Adaptability
8. Self Starter with ability to problem solve and find answers and solutions
9. Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
10. Ability to manage multiple projects / tasks in a fast-paced production environment
11. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
a. (Excel & Word are critical)
12. Ability to communicate in English orally and in writing with coworkers, regulatory officials, management, and different levels of the organization
13. 30/70 break down for desk responsibilities vs on the floor (This is not a desk job)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
