Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our team as a Japanese Sushi Cook. This role involves preparing and serving food in a fast-paced restaurant environment, ensuring high standards of food safety and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service, excellent cooking skills, and a strong understanding of food handling procedures. This position offers an opportunity to grow within the food industry while delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.
Must have a minimum 2 years of experience
Must be available weekdays, weekends and holidays - flexible shifts
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Serve food to customers efficiently and courteously
- Handle food with proper safety and sanitation practices in accordance with health regulations
- Assist in meal preparation during busy hours, including chopping, assembling, and plating dishes
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas throughout shifts
- Ensure all food products are stored correctly and inventory is managed properly
- Follow all food safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure quality control
- Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent customer service and support daily operations
Skills
- Proven experience in serving, food preparation, or cooking within a restaurant or food service environment
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and safety standards in the food industry
- Strong understanding of meal preparation techniques and kitchen operations
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork orientation
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in food service
- Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
