MODUS Structures Inc. is an experienced off-site design, manufacturing, and construction company based in Crossfield, Alberta. Established in 2004, MODUS has successfully provided innovative and cost-effective building solutions to the educational, commercial, residential, industrial, and institutional sectors.
Operating two manufacturing facilities totaling over 200,000 square feet of insulated and heated workspace, the MODUS team designs, manufactures, and delivers building projects faster than traditional site-built methods.
Role Description
The Production Coordinator supports the planning and coordination of daily manufacturing operations. Working closely with production leadership and cross-functional teams, this role helps ensure production activities are organized, materials and information flow efficiently, and projects remain on schedule.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-based environment. The role offers exposure to production planning, scheduling, Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and modular construction.
Responsibilities
Production Planning & Coordination
- Assist with coordinating daily and weekly production schedules.
- Monitor production progress and help identify scheduling or workflow issues.
- Update ERP/MRP systems and maintain accurate production records.
- Track production milestones and communicate updates to the production team.
- Support production leadership in meeting manufacturing schedules and customer commitments.
Production Support
- Coordinate information between Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Logistics, and Project Management.
- Prepare production reports and KPI updates.
- Assist with tracking action items and following up on outstanding production issues.
- Maintain accurate production documentation and records.
Continuous Improvement
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen initiatives.
- Assist with problem-solving and root cause investigations.
- Help track improvement projects and production performance metrics.
- Support 5S and visual management activities throughout the manufacturing facility.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with production supervisors and cross-functional teams.
- Communicate production priorities and schedule changes clearly and professionally.
- Build positive working relationships across all departments.
- Contribute to a culture of safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing, production, operations, construction, logistics, or a related environment.
- Diploma or degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related discipline is considered an asset.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems is an asset but not required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a willingness to learn.
- Interest in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Kaizen principles.
- Experience in modular construction or manufacturing is considered an asset but not required.
