Job Summary
Futures Canadian College is seeking Registered Nurses (RN) and NACC-certified PSWs to support our PSW program as Clinical Instructors and PSW Preceptors.
- PSW Preceptors (RN or NACC PSW) provide hands-on supervision and mentorship to students completing their mandatory clinical hours (minimum 100 hours) in long-term care facilities.
- Clinical Instructors (RN only) visit clinical sites to evaluate and assess student performance and provide formal feedback to the college.
Key Responsibilities:
PSW Preceptor (RN or NACC PSW)
- Supervise students on-site during clinical placements.
- Mentor and coach students in PSW skills and professional care practices.
- Ensure students follow safety protocols and workplace standards.
Clinical Instructor (RN only)
- Visit placement sites 2–3 days per week to observe student performance.
- Provide formal feedback and assessment reports.
- Liaise with the college and placement sites regarding student progress.
Qualifications:
- Clinical Instructor: Registered Nurse (RN) with active license
- PSW Preceptor: RN or NACC-certified PSW with relevant clinical experience
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience preferred
- Experience in mentoring or supervising PSW students is an asset
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Ability to travel to long-term care facilities in Tavistock, ON and nearby locations.
