Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and attentive Traffic Control Person to ensure the safety and smooth flow of traffic at construction sites and roadwork zones. This role is essential for maintaining safety standards for workers and the public during construction activities. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in outdoor environments under various weather conditions.
Duties
- Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic around construction zones using hand signals, signs, or flagging equipment.
- Set up and maintain traffic control devices such as cones, barriers, signs, and flagging stations to guide traffic safely.
- Monitor work zones to ensure compliance with safety regulations and report any unsafe conditions or incidents.
- Assist with the movement of heavy equipment and materials as needed, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Coordinate with construction teams to facilitate efficient work progress while ensuring public safety.
- Maintain clear communication with team members and drivers to prevent accidents or confusion within the work zone.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of traffic control procedures and safety standards.
- Ability to operate basic traffic control equipment such as flags, signs, and barriers.
- Experience with heavy equipment operation, paving, or general construction is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively direct traffic and interact with team members.
- Ability to remain alert and attentive for extended periods, especially in outdoor settings.
- Physical stamina to stand for long durations and perform manual tasks related to setting up traffic control devices.

Pay: $17.85-$22.00 per hour
