Job Description:
The Civil Skilled Labourer supports civil construction operations related to underground utilities, roadworks, and site development. The role involves hands-on work assisting operators, pipelayers, and forepersons to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Canadian safety regulations and municipal standards.

What you'll do:
-
Assist with the installation of underground utilities, including storm, sanitary, and water systems
-
Perform excavation support tasks such as trench preparation, bedding, and backfilling
-
Install and adjust pipe bedding materials and assist with pipe placement
-
Support installation of manholes, catch basins, services, hydrants, and valves
-
Perform hand excavation around existing utilities and services
-
Assist with compaction, grading, and site cleanup
-
Spot and guide heavy equipment and traffic as required
-
Follow utility locates and protect existing underground infrastructure
-
Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas
-
Adhere to company policies, site-specific safety plans, and OH&S regulations
-
Participate in daily toolbox talks and hazard assessments
What you'll bring:
-
2+ years of experience in civil construction or underground utilities (preferred)
-
Knowledge of civil construction tools, equipment, and materials
-
Ability to work safely in and around trenches and heavy equipment
-
Familiarity with Canadian trench safety and excavation practices
-
Ability to read basic construction drawings (asset)

Strong work ethic, reliability, and teamwork skills
-
Physically capable of performing demanding outdoor work
