HDP is seeking a Project Manager to lead the financial and operational performance of telecom projects, ensuring alignment with corporate standards and strategic goals. You’ll oversee budgets, expenditures, and compliance, while building strong relationships with clients and guiding a high performing team. Working closely with senior leadership, you’ll drive consistency, resolve project issues, and support long-term planning to keep operations running smoothly and efficiently.
What You'll Do Here:
- Lead and manage all aspects of telecom projects from initiation to completion.
- Ensure project success by adhering to scope, budget, and timeline standards.
- Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to meet project requirements and build strong relationships.
- Monitor project progress and performance, addressing any issues or risks.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project team members, clients, and stakeholders.
- Provide direction and leadership to project teams, including vendors, subcontractors, drafters, designers, and engineers.
- Ensure financial performance aligns with business plan targets.
- Report financial performance, workload status, potential legal issues, and opportunities to the Senior Manager.
- Prepare staff development and succession plans for reports.
- Ensure all activities in designated regions align with corporate and divisional strategic plans, business plans, policies, and procedures.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
What You Bring to the Team:
- 5+ years of experience in Project Coordination/Project Management within the utility or telecom contracting sector, supported by relevant education in Engineering, Construction Project Management, or equivalent technical training. PMP designation is considered an asset.
- Strong industry expertise, including engineering standards, regulatory compliance, utility construction practices, and familiarity with major ISPs (e.g., Rogers, Bell).
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage design partners, and collaborate effectively across departments while maintaining strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated capability to manage multiple projects end-to-end, overseeing schedules, resources, risk, and cost control while maintaining high-quality delivery.
- Skilled in financial forecasting, cost management, and project reporting, with a track record of driving project success and contributing to business growth.
- Proactive, organized, and able to work independently in fast‑paced environments with competing deadlines.
- Strong technical proficiency, including MS Excel, Word, and MS Project.
- Willingness to travel between utility yards across the GTA as required.
