Staff Plus is hiring an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician for a high-speed food manufacturing and packaging facility.
This is a senior-level maintenance position for a licensed trades professional with extensive experience maintaining and troubleshooting Tetra Pak equipment, aseptic food processing systems, and high-speed packaging equipment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preventative maintenance, equipment breakdowns, troubleshooting, changeovers, equipment improvements, and supporting junior and apprentice technicians.
Pay: $48.98 per hour
Shift: Continental Nights: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
What You'll Do:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical equipment breakdowns.
- Perform preventative maintenance according to established PM schedules and standards.
- Maintain and repair high-speed food processing and packaging equipment.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on Tetra Pak equipment and aseptic processing systems.
- Dismantle, repair, replace, modify, and reassemble mechanical and electrical components.
- Maintain production equipment including pumps, pasteurizers, valves, piping, and related systems.
- Maintain and troubleshoot support equipment including boilers, air compressors, condensers, vacuum pumps, and water systems.
- Complete equipment changeovers and production volume conversions.
- Perform lubrication, adjustments, equipment modifications, cleaning, and scheduled maintenance.
- Identify equipment deficiencies and recommend improvements to increase reliability and reduce downtime.
- Work closely with Equipment Operators, Quality Control Technicians, and Production Supervisors to troubleshoot production issues.
- Follow all Lockout/Tagout procedures and facility health and safety requirements.
- Complete maintenance documentation and communicate work performed during shift changes.
- Participate in equipment reliability and continuous improvement projects.
- Lead, support, and mentor Junior and Apprentice Maintenance Technicians.
- Maintain a strong focus on employee safety, food safety, and product quality.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience working with Tetra Pak equipment is required.
- Previous experience with low-acid aseptic food processing is required.
- Experience maintaining and troubleshooting high-speed flexible packaging equipment is required.
- Industrial Millwright / Maintenance Millwright
- Industrial Electrician
- Comparable recognized skilled trade
- Mechanical or Electrical Technology diploma/degree, or equivalent technical education.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience diagnosing equipment failures and completing emergency breakdown repairs.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to read and understand technical documentation, equipment manuals, and maintenance procedures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with production, quality, and maintenance teams.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
- Strong commitment to Lockout/Tagout, PPE, food safety, and workplace safety procedures.
- Ability to work the required continental night shift.
