Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing appointment scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, and administrative tasks. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency with dental and medical office software, and a strong understanding of dental terminology. The Dental Receptionist plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth patient experience and maintaining efficient office operations.
Hours: Monday - Friday 2pm to 7:30pm.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out procedures
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using Dentrix or similar software
- Manage multi-line phone systems to handle patient inquiries and appointment requests
- Verify patient insurance information and update electronic medical records accurately
- Collect payments and process billing transactions at the front desk
- Maintain organized patient records in compliance with privacy regulations
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and correspondence
- Coordinate with dental staff to ensure smooth daily operations
- Handle patient questions regarding procedures, billing, or insurance coverage professionally
Experience
- Previous experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a dental office setting preferred
- Familiarity with dental software such as Dentrix and Epic is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental care
- Experience working with electronic medical records (EMRs) and office management systems
- Strong office experience including front desk responsibilities and administrative support
- Ability to operate multi-line phone systems efficiently
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and scheduling
- Prior experience in medical or dental office environments is advantageous
