Student Care is excited to announce an opportunity for an Out of School Care Program Director to lead our new Calgary Arts Academy Rosscarrock Campus program, located at 1406 – 40 Street SW.
This brand-new program will serve students in Grades 4, 5, and 6, providing a safe, engaging, and enriching environment before and after school. As we launch this new location, we are seeking a passionate and motivated leader who is excited by the opportunity to build a positive program culture, foster meaningful relationships with children and families, and lead a dedicated team of 3 staff members.
This position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced school-age child care professional who has previously directed an Out of School Care program or has served as an Assistant Program Director and is ready to take the next step into a leadership role. The successful candidate will play an integral role in establishing a high-quality program that reflects Student Care's commitment to exceptional care, engaging experiences, and strong community partnerships. Applicants must hold a current Alberta Early Childhood Educator Level 2 or Level 3 certification to be considered for this position.
The Program Director's schedule will typically consist of a three-component split shift: 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to provide lunch supervision in support of our host school, and 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Administrative hours are flexible and may be adjusted to meet the operational needs of the program. The total scheduled hours are 40 hours per week.
The successful candidates will:
* be a confident and experienced child care team leader.
* hold Alberta Ministry of Children's Services Child Care Early Childhood Educator Level 2 or 3.
* hold current child care first aid or be willing to complete.
* be prepared to provide a Criminal Record Check that is not more than six months old.
* be someone who is calm under pressure and leads by example.
* be energetic, enthusiastic, positive and has a "big" personality to inspire staff and students.
* be well organized and always prepared.
* be able to drive in order to do supply shopping.
* be a team player who always has a smile and a kind word for others.
* be reliable and conscientious, always insuring that the staff are supported.
* be focused and aware to make sure that the children are always safe and having fun.
* be firm but fair to promote good citizenship within the group environment.
* be prepared to step in to ratio as needed.
* be committed to a 40 hour work week.
* be committed to providing the children and staff with stability and consistency.
* be an all round awesome person with a passion for working with children and leading a staff team effectively.
