Framerz Prefab Solutions Ltd. designs and manufactures prefabricated wall panel systems for residential, townhome, multi-family, and mid-rise wood-frame construction throughout Alberta.
We are looking for a motivated Wall Panel Designer to prepare accurate, production-ready wall panel packages from approved architectural and structural drawings. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys technical problem-solving, drafting, and working in a collaborative manufacturing environment.
About the Role
You will use MiTek Structure to create wall panel layouts and shop drawings while working closely with designers, estimators, production teams, engineering, and field operations.
Projects include:
- Single-family homes
- Duplexes and semi-detached homes
- Townhomes
- Multi-family projects
- Mid-rise wood-frame buildings
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare production-ready wall panel layouts using MiTek Structure.
- Convert architectural and structural drawings into manufacturing-ready shop drawings.
- Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and constructability.
- Coordinate revisions and maintain drawing documentation.
- Identify conflicts, missing information, and improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support successful project delivery.
- Maintain drafting standards and contribute to continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Required:
- Experience producing construction, manufacturing, or structural drafting drawings.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
- Strong understanding of residential wood-frame construction.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to learn and grow technical skills.
Preferred:
- Experience with MiTek Structure (SAPPHIRE) or similar software.
- Experience with wall panel, truss, or prefabricated component design.
- Experience with residential, townhome, multi-family, or mid-rise construction.
- Diploma in Architectural Technology, Engineering Design & Drafting Technology, or equivalent experience.
Candidates with strong drafting or construction backgrounds who are interested in learning MiTek are encouraged to apply.
