Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated French Teacher (with an ECE or ECEA certificate) to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in language education and a commitment to fostering a positive French learning environment for students. This role involves teaching French to preschoolers and requires effective communication skills to engage and inspire young learners.
Job Duties
● Plan, carry out, and assess developmentally appropriate activities and experiences that promote the well-being of each child, and that respect and reflect the diverse needs of children.
● Organize space, equipment, and materials before activities ensuring adaptations to the environment as required.
● Assist children in expressing themselves by listening and responding with questions or comments that extend conversations.
● Use a variety of teaching techniques including modeling, observing, questioning, demonstrating and reinforcing.
● Provide opportunities for child-directed play experiences.
● Individualize the curriculum and ensure that all activities are accessible.
● Use observations to expand play and plan activities that recognize individual differences.
● In collaboration with the Manager, staff team and family, recommend referrals or requests for additional services for children.
● Perform assessments of children’s academic development.
● Work cooperatively with the Manager, staff team and community resources to support inclusive practice and address the needs of individual children.
● Report all accidents, injuries and illnesses to the Manager or designate and record such incidents in the confidential log book and as a serious incident, if necessary.
● Other duties as required.
Requirements
● Bachelor's Degree (required)
● At least 3 years of French teaching experience
● English and French proficiency is a must
● Highly organized, tactful, versatile, and flexible with excellent communication skills.
● Proficient organizational skills
● Must have an ECE or ECEA Certificate
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $36.00-$40.00 per hour
